ABrasOFFA – Brazilian Association of Organizers of Folklore and Popular Arts Festivals is a Non-Governmental Organization and non-profit entity with the OSCIP Title (Society Civil Organization of Public Interesting) founded in 1992.
It develops projects turned to the recovery and preservation of the Culture, mainly of the Folklore and Popular Arts. Affiliate and representative of IOV - Internationale Organisation für Volkskunst, which has its headquarter in Austria, and collaborator member of CIOFF – International Council of Organizations for Folklore Festivals. In 2005 the projects: “Circuito BRASIL FEST IN FOLK – International Folk Festival of Brazil ®” and “Young Volunteer’s Network for Culture of Peace” received the UNESCO’s official seal.
Recovery and preservation of the cultural traditions, to become the nations close and harmonizing the relation by experiences interchange and integration of the nations, with projects about culture of peace and non-violence, with the aim to guarantee the peace in the world.
PROJECT’S DESCRIPTION:
This International meeting, the “ WORLD CONGRESS OF PEACE IN AMERICA” will gather men of science, researcher, nominal “Nobel Peace Prize”, Ministers of Culture, authorities connected to the Human Rights, experts and popular art and cultural tourism from all over the world, with the only proposal to reach the Peace between different nations. The lecturers and invited talkers will discuss strategies to make the actions practical in favor of Culture of Peace and Non-violence.

JUSTIFICATION:
ONU and UNESCO come along the years orientating all the nations of the world, to they bring together around this critical issue: “To preserve the Peace in the World”, through the cultural manifestations, events, seminars, symposiums, congress, etc. and that it’s a duty of all conscientious citizen and worried about the future of nations, to work for Peace.
It is in this moment, disturbed by the urban violence and wars, that we have to combine for one purpose: to find solutions to minimize the hostilities, the violence at the schools, at the traffic, communities, countries with lack of food and social and racial conflicts.
The Art and the Popular Culture are vital benefits of the cultural heritage of all nations in the world. Through the fomentation and conservation between the traditions and the innovations, these benefits will serve for all the humanity’s well-being, contributing to the approach of the nation and to the World Peace.
A rich and florescent popular culture shows the happiness of men and contributes in a essential way to the men sociability in peace, security and harmony, it establishes the basis to the creativity, social responsibility and love to the next one.
The popular culture is an expression of cultural identity.
The knowledge of the other nation’s history and culture therefore contributes and reduce the conflicts, creating the tolerance and Peace.

It will be open applications to the conferences to be held, because it will be an opportunity to exchange experiences, to liberator dialogues, to initiatives, to the construction of a moral and intellectual autonomy and to the respect of diversity, promoting the reception of each other in a sympathetic process changing the learning in to something dynamic, functional and expressive.
